Pets are regrettably not allowed at the castle

Environment
Due to the rural setting of the location, there is a diversity of wildlife around the castle consistent with warm climates. Guests are advised to be aware that some animals may accidentally enter into the property.

Prices
Prices include all services, towels and linens, use of the swimming pool and garden furniture. House-keeping is not included but may be arranged locally at extra cost. A non-refundable deposit of 10% is payable on confirmation of a booking with the balance due 8 weeks before the rental period. Late bookings made within 8 weeks of rental period require full payment of the rental on confirmation.

Cancellation
Cancellations made 16 weeks prior to the rental period are charged at 40%.
Cancellations made 8 weeks prior to the rental period are charged at 60%.
Cancellations made 4 weeks prior to the date of rental are charged at full rental rate.

Cost will be adjusted if the chateau is re-let for the relevant period.

Breakages
A refundable holding deposit is required to cover any breakages or damage to the property.

Security
As the castle sits high on the banks of the Yonne with extensive private grounds, guests are advised that very young children in the party may require supervision outside the castle. Guests are also required to safeguard the property during the rental period by locking up the windows and doors whilst away from the property and at night.

Housekeeping
Guests are expected to leave the castle in a neat and tidy condition. Excessive cleaning costs will be recharged.

The owner of De La Chaise will not accept any liability for any loss, injury or damage of any nature whatsoever sustained to or by any person in the course of their occupation of Chateau de la Chaise and the land adjacent thereto as a result of the occupation of that property or any activity carried out in the course of such occupation wheresoever or howsoever sustained, such activity and occupation being carried out at the individual’s own risk.

The property should only be used for residential purposes, as holiday accommodation for family groups. It cannot be used for business purposes or non-family groups without prior approval.

It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured for your holiday. Insurance for the activities you choose to undertake during your holiday is also your own responsibility.

We have the right to cancel the booking in the event of force majeure, this being defined as unusual unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided by us even with the exercise of all due care and include war or threat of war, riot or civil strife, political unrest, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, disaster, fire, sickness, weather conditions such as hurricanes and flood, acts of any port, airport, government or public authority, nuclear and/ or Acts of God.
